The development is piloting the new Green Star - Office Built rating tool. The building includes a fully recycled steel structure, Co2 monitoring and control, innovative mechanical systems and lighting design and the wide use of environmentally sustainable materials.

Club Tower

Club Tower is named after the historic Canterbury Club and will be the first A-Grade tower constructed in the Garden City for almost 20 years. It has recently been awarded a 5 Star Green Star rating for its design from the New Zealand Green Building Council making it the first building to achieve a Green Star rating in the South Island. Reaching forty metres into the clear Canterbury sky, Club Tower has thirteen levels, with three floors of car parking (basement, ground, and first floor), and ten levels of office space with stunning views across Christchurch City to the Southern Alps.

Latitude Group receive 5 Green Star rating

Latitude Group has been awarded the first 5 Green Star rating in the South Island and were presented with the certificate for project, by Rohan Bush and Jane Henley of the New Zealand Green Building Council.

The Canterbury Club is located on the corner of Worcester Boulevard and Cambridge Terrace, and the new Club Tower is being built on the site next door, on Worcester Boulevard. Together with the nearby former public library, the Worcester Street Bridge, the former Municipal Chambers, and Christchurch's Art Gallery, the Canterbury Club building and Club Tower site form an important part of an historically rich area of Christchurch.

Canterbury Club Relationship

The Canterbury Club is a unique and significant part of the history of Christchurch. In December 2005, Latitude Group successfully tendered by private treaty for the land which surrounds the Canterbury Club site. The sale proceeds will enable the Canterbury Club to make the essential and urgent repairs to its 133 year old building.
